What UV light is best for rocks?
There is no single best UV light for every mineral. For field longwave use, 365 nm is often a stronger starting point when fluorescence contrast matters, while 395 nm can work for some targets. Shortwave mineral fluorescence requires specialist equipment and separate safety considerations.

Do not assume every product labeled UV produces the same useful field result. Start with the target mineral response and exact light specification.
