Cyprus has exceptional ophiolite, fossil and mining geology, but official geological-heritage guidance emphasizes protection and preservation of important geomorphosites. Troodos National Forest/Natura 2000 areas, restored mine landscapes and active or abandoned mine ground are not recreational collecting permissions. Use the visitor-centre, trail or site-specific status rather than assuming rocks or minerals may be removed.
