Swiss mineral and fossil collecting rules vary by canton, municipality, land rights and site. Several records here are deliberately guided/licensed only; a map point is never blanket permission. In Valais, taking crystals, minerals or fossils without required authorization can be fined, and organized searches may require cantonal authorization.
