Do I need a saw before buying a cabbing machine?

Should a beginner buy a slab saw first?

Only if large rough is central to the projects you actually plan to do and your workspace can support the machine. For small preforms, a trim saw or outsourced cutting can be a lower-commitment entry path.

Why does the builder show a price floor instead of a total?
