Indian Bureau of Mines records Tamil Nadu as a leading holder of national vermiculite, dunite, garnet, rutile, ilmenite and molybdenum resources, with feldspar and quartz/silica in many districts. Specialist mineral data document the Karur–Kangeyam gem belt, while official district survey reports identify village-level quartz–feldspar occurrences in Coimbatore, Erode and Namakkal. This release preserves industrial, quarry and lower-precision records as non-navigable or contextual entries rather than deleting them or implying recreational access.
