Maharashtra coverage includes Deccan Trap zeolites, agate, quartz, chalcedony and related mineral localities. Gujarat adds Khambhat/Cambay agate context, the Rajpipla–Ratanpore belt, Morbi–Tankara moss agate, Bhavnagar thunderegg localities and selected geological complexes. Rajasthan adds the Ajmer–Bhilwara emerald belt, garnet, pegmatites and western alkaline/igneous complexes. Madhya Pradesh adds Deccan crystal localities, diamond/manganese/copper reference geology and protected public geological attractions. Karnataka adds gem-corundum occurrences, Mandya–Hassan pegmatites, Chitradurga baryte and sulphide geology, Chamarajanagar alkaline/carbonatite rocks and selected metamorphic/ultramafic localities. Odisha adds green beryl/emerald, iolite, corundum, moonstone, garnet, quartz, quartzite and gemstone-lease context across Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Dhenkanal, Angul and Subarnapur. Nagaland adds DGM-backed Naga Hills Ophiolite magnetite/chromite/PGE contexts, explored limestone and coal blocks, Kiphire spilite/sandstone/granite resources and a documented Layoti nallah chalcedony–agate occurrence; resource, mine, quarry and extraction records remain non-navigable because geological occurrence does not establish public collecting rights. Sikkim adds the Rangpo–Dikchu–Pachekhani base-metal belt, Rangit coal, graphite, talc/quartzite, carbonates, marble and sillimanite, with all Sikkim records kept non-navigable under the current mineral-policy/access framework. Tripura adds quartz-rich glass sand, plastic/kaolinitic clay, shell limestone, hard sandstone and boulder resources, small lignite/coal occurrences, plus current REE-in-clay and glauconitic-sandstone reconnaissance; all Tripura records remain non-navigable because occurrence/resource evidence does not establish recreational collecting rights. Andaman & Nicobar adds Middle Andaman and Ritchie’s Archipelago limestone, Rutland–Panchawati–Betapur chromite/PGE and black-sand geology, South Andaman gold/base-metal/sulphide and nickel contexts, Barren/Narcondam volcanism, Baratang mud-volcano/limestone-cave geology, regulated quarry references and West Sewell Ridge offshore polymetallic-nodule/crust exploration; every island record is non-navigable because protected-area, forest, tribal-reserve, coastal and quarry/mineral controls require site-specific authorization. Chandigarh adds the northeastern Siwalik fringe, Kandi/Bhabhar piedmont, Sirowal/Tarai and Quaternary alluvial plain, coarse Sukhna Choe and Patiala-ki-Rao sediment corridors, Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary conglomerate/fossil context and protected catchment geology; all Chandigarh records remain non-navigable because the key exposures are protected, urban, drainage or reserve-forest contexts. Lower-confidence, mine-controlled, prospect or industrial occurrences remain map-only or non-navigable instead of being presented as public collecting sites.

How access status works

Permission required is used for quarry or operator-controlled sites where collecting should not occur without explicit permission. Collecting status not confirmed means the geology is documented but recreational collecting authority has not been established. Reference / viewing only is used for protected attractions, mines, quarries, deposits, reclaimed sites, unsafe workings or other records that should not be presented as recreational collecting destinations.
